Hello and thank you for stopping by.  We are a family oriented martial arts studio teaching TaeKwonDo and Arnis.  More than just the type of martial arts we teach is our vision that we can improve the world, one student at a time.

Everyone learns to approach life the Black Belt Way, giving 100% effort, developing a positive attitude, and indomitable spirit.  Students develop focus and self-confidence that other sports do not inspire.

We provide a place where families can connect through their training, and where students can learn to persevere through challenges, set and achieve goals, become more physically fit, and become better leaders.  Students earn their rank advancements through merit and skill, not just the amount of time trained or tuition paid.

Our Mission:  To inspire and motivate people through martial arts training, so they can attain a healthy mind, body, and spirit.  To enable students to take the experiences, abilities, and life skills they learn beyond the training floor to become a foundation that students can apply to all aspects of their lives.

It's that time of year... If the public schools close due to inclemate weather we will be closed too. Please check back with our web site or call in to the school to see if there are any messages about being closed. Thanks!

Good bye 2011, Hello 2012!

by: Kyo Bum Nim Jennifer Berg

I’m looking forward to a great year with you all.  I thought I’d try to put together some of the highlights for 2012 that we can all look forward to.  Please keep in mind that some of the following schedules may need to be adjusted later in the year.

This month we are having a special “bring a friend week” the week of the 23rd – 27th.  We encourage all our students to bring a friend (or more) to class to try martial arts with them.

February will be kickboxing month.  Look for discounts on classes and merchandise.

Camps:  We will have half-day camps for mid-winter break (February 20th – 24th) and spring break (April 2nd – 6th and April 9th – 13th) as well as full day camps in June and July.

Tournaments:  The first tournament of the year will be the TMA Championships in March. This is a friendly tournament with both TMA schools and with luck a few other schools too! In May we will have the Arnis tournament, hosted at Overlake.  Pine Lake will host the form tournament in September and then we’ll be back at Overlake in November for the sparring tournament.

As usual, we will have an Arnis seminar on the first Saturday of the month (unless otherwise noted).  We also have a Tae Kwon Do test every month – possible black belt tests in February and October.  Watch for breaking seminars, Black Belt Club seminars and a couple other mini camps or workshops in 2012.

I'm really thankful for everything 2011 brought to us and I'm excited and looking forward to 2012!
